How to Adjust Your BenQ Projector to Fit Screen (Step-by-Step Guide)
For newbies, it may be too technical to adjust your projector to fit your screen. However, you should be able to do it without any difficulty once you follow my step-by-step guide:
Turn on your project if it is already off
If your projector is already on, you can proceed to the next step. If it is off, make sure the power cable and input cable are plugged in correctly and turn it on.
Select the right input you are using
You can either use the “input” button on the remote control or directly on the projector to select the right input. Your input option may be HDMI, USB, etc. Select the suitable input option and move to the next step.
Adjust zoom to get the right image size
The zoom can be adjusted with either the remote or the projector. You can use the arrow keys on top of the projector.
To do this, press “Menu and select “Zoom”. From the options, select “Projector Zoom”. If the image appears too big, the “-” button can be used to reduce the size. Also, if the image appears too small, you can hit the “+” button to increase the size. Keep pressing either button to get the right image size for your screen.
Make sure you do not make the image too big or too small. Once you have the desired image size, press “Enter” or “OK”. A confirmation message will appear; confirm your changes and proceed to the next step.
Adjust the focus to get a clear and sharp image
This step can be completed with either the projector or the remote control. If you are using the projector, you can use the arrow buttons on top of the projector.
Adjusting the focus makes you get a clear and sharp image. Access the main menu and select “Focus” from the options. From the options, select “Projector Focus”. Use the “-” button to reduce the clearness of the image. The “+” button will increase the clearness of the image. Once the image is sharp and clear enough, press “Enter” or “OK.”
Adjust the position to make the image appear at the center of the screen
The projector’s position can be changed with the arrow keys on the projector or the remote control.
Adjusting the focus ensures that the image is in the center of the viewing area. Access the main menu and choose “Position” from the list of options. From the option that appears, select “Projector Position”. You can move it to the other side if it is too far from one side by pressing the “-” button. You can move it up or down if it is too high or low by pressing the “+” button.
Press “Enter” or “OK” after adjusting the position. A confirmation message will appear; proceed to confirm your configuration.
Check for any distortion on the image projected
When your projected image does not appear straight on your image, then it is distorted. One way to look at it is that one side of your projection will appear wider than the other.
There are two ways to correct the distortion:
- You can correct distortion by pressing “Distortion” on your remote control.
- Another way to do this is by adjusting the projector’s position; you can either lower your projector’s position if the image height is too high or vice versa. Also, if it is skewed, you can adjust the projector’s position left or right to get a rectangular image.
If you used the “Distortion” button, press “Exit” when you are done.
Save your configuration
Remember to save your configuration for each step. If you do not, when you turn off your projector, you will have to repeat the steps again. So make sure that you confirm all the confirmation messages that appear after adjusting each of the options.
